Clydesdale Experience

Here at Peggyslea, we are now introducing a new unique experience for everyone to enjoy. This exciting opportunity will begin in 2021 on weekdays and weekends. This experience requires a minimum of 2 people and a maximum of 6. However please contact us if your party is bigger.

The day will begin at 11am and finish around 3pm, throughout the day we will provide you with a wealth of knowledge on Scotland’s native breed. You will interact with the horses and groom them and see the day to day tasks involved in caring for the Clydesdales.

We will then go on to explain how we get them ready to compete at shows and demonstrate all the different stages involved, you will also have the chance to get hands-on and have a go yourself.

The main aspect of the experience is going for around a 30-minute carriage drive around the grounds, after learning about the harness and how it is fitted.

To round off the day you will have the chance to have a go at driving a single horse and cart yourself.

Of course, throughout the day there will be plenty of photo opportunities!

To make this experience even more special why not book a stay at Peggyslea farm bed and breakfast on site. Tea, coffee and cake will be provided throughout the day.
